Leslie Portillo is a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist in New York State, Board Certified Art Therapist, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapist, Reiki Master, & Curandera.
She received her Master of Arts in Creative Arts Therapy Counseling in 2021 from Hofstra University, Bachelor of Science in Visual Arts from SUNY New Paltz in 2018, and has years of experience with in-patient youth & adult behavioral health, geriatrics, children with disabilities, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC communities.
Leslie specializes in Anxiety, Depression, Self-esteem, Trauma and Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), LGBTQ2S+, Polyamory and Non-monogamous Relationships, Family Conflict, Attention Deficit (ADHD), Bipolar Disorder, Coping Skills, Grief, Anger Management, Spirituality, Life Transitions, Cultural Identity, Systemic injustices & Oppression, Relationship Issues, Ancestral Healing, and Women's Issues. She utilizes evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Existential, Holistic, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), Person-Centered, and Trauma Focused.
Leslie is a first-generation Latina and has Indigenous ancestry from Cuzcatlan (El Salvador) and Borinquen (Puerto Rico). Her grandfather was a healer in Patamera, El Salvador. Leslie incorporates Curanderismo in her practice, which is a traditional form of shamanic healing from Ancient Mesoamerica.

Leslie is also the founder of Cool Beans Apothecary, a holistic metaphysical pop-up shop in Huntington, NY featured in events such as the Long Island Farmer's Market and the Huntington Fall Festival. On her spare time, Leslie enjoys being in nature, making herbal tinctures and candles, playing with her dog Zuko and rescue cats Henny & Nova, and being with her loved ones.
